Billard Learning Centre welcomes volunteers to join the Billard community in ensuring the success of the Blank Page Summit.
Volunteers are engaged directly by word of mouth followed by a formal expression of interest process.
Volunteers do lots of different jobs – lost property, VIP guest care, telephone charging, roving mike support, photography, facilitation, transport, medical etc.
If you are interested in volunteering at the upcoming Blank Page Summit in July 2012, this is what you need:
Generalist skills– a ‘can do’ background with a good dose of common sense – are mosthelpful.
Flexibility- things come up that need quick responses, sometimes an early start to the day and a late night - a willingness to ‘chip in’ is essential.
Team spirit– you need to enjoy working with great people in a cooperative way.
Initiative– volunteers are the eyes and ears of the Summit – seeing what’s needed and working out how best to respond makes things run smoothly.
Professionalism – punctuality, confidentiality, active listening and the drive to learn more than what you already know – are of critical importance.
Arrangements for registration, travel and transit accommodation on the way to and from Broome are negotiated on an individual basis.
If you would like to volunteer in 2012, please send us an email introducing yourself and telling us how you believe you may be able to assist with Summit 2012.
CURRENT VOLUNTEER GAP
Sound technician or someone with a good knowledge of sound equipment.
